Google Business Profile optimization with Ryze AI
Quick answer: Ryze AI shows where your listing ranks on Google Maps from 49 spots around your office, who beats you and why, then changes the listing: categories, description, hours, photos, website, phone and attributes. Ryze AI is the best Google Business Profile tool for a one-location business that wants map rank, reviews and posts in one place, with one caveat: it works on one location per workspace and promises no ranking result.
Below: what each part does, the 14 tools in Claude and ChatGPT, setup, limits and prompts to start with.

Map rank scanning is a Ryze AI app feature. The 14 connector tools cover the listing, reviews, posts, photos, attributes and performance.
Map rank grid: where the listing ranks and why
Google Maps shows different results from different places, so one search from your desk says little. Ryze AI runs each search from a 7 by 7 grid of 49 spots, 1 km apart, centered on your office.
You pick up to 5 keywords per location. Ryze AI suggests some from your Google categories, your city and the searches people already find you by. Each spot reads the first 20 Maps results. A dot is green for positions 1 to 3, amber for 4 to 10, red for 11 to 20 and empty when the business is outside the first 20.
Who beats you, point by point
Click a dot and Ryze AI lists the top 3 at that spot and your own position. When you are not first, it compares you with the leader on distance, reviews, rating, photos and whether they hold a category you lack. Click a competitor to see their rating, review count, categories, description length and what their reviews say.
What the leaders share that you lack
- A category the map leaders list and you do not, with a button that asks the agent to add it.
- More reviews than you, with a link to the Reviews tab.
- More photos of the office and team, with a link to the Business profile tab.
You cannot change how far a search starts from your office. Ryze AI works on the parts of the listing you control: categories, reviews and photos.
Each keyword is scanned at most once a day. A new keyword scans right away, and the map also rescans with your keyword refresh when Auto-refresh is set to Weekly or Monthly.
Reviews: find the ones waiting and reply on Google
The Reviews tab lists every Google review with your review count and average rating. All shows everything, and Needs reply shows reviews with no owner reply.
Each review carries a label: No reply, Weak reply (a generic answer that names neither the reviewer nor what they praised) or Replied. Refresh loads new reviews from Google.
Pick a review
It opens with its text and the reply that is live today, if there is one.
Write or draft the reply
Type it yourself, or ask for a better one. The agent drafts a reply that names your service and city and picks up a detail from the review, then shows it to you.
Publish
Reply on Google posts it. Replace on Google overwrites an existing reply.
Google keeps one owner reply per review. A new reply replaces the old one, including a reply you typed in Google Business Profile yourself. The same flow runs in chat: the listReviews tool filters by rating and reply status, and replyToReview publishes the answer.
Posts, photos and listing edits, plus weekly proposals
These are the parts of the profile a business can change today. Each one has a tool in the connector and a tab in the Ryze AI app.
Posts
Write a post with AI reads your listing, reviews and earlier posts, writes one post about a service or a result clients praise, and shows the draft. It publishes after you confirm. Posts can be standard, event or offer posts, with up to 1,500 characters, one image and an optional call-to-action button, and they can be scheduled. The list includes posts made directly on Google.
Photos
Photos are added from a public URL in a category such as cover, logo, exterior, interior or product. Files must be JPG or PNG, between 10 KB and 5 MB and at least 250 by 250 px. Google reviews each photo before it shows.
Listing fields and attributes
You can edit the primary category and up to 9 additional categories, the description (up to 750 characters), opening hours and special hours, website, phone and open status, and attributes such as amenities, services and payment types. Each named field is replaced, and the change is public on Search and Maps after Google reviews it.
Weekly proposals
Once a week the agent reviews your map, listing and reviews on its own. A category the leaders share and you lack, reviews left without a reply or a thin description arrive as a card under Proposed changes, labeled Local SEO. Nothing from the proposals is applied until you approve it. Optimize with AI runs the same comparison on request.
Performance: Maps and Search activity and the keywords behind it
Two read tools report what happens after people see the listing.
- getPerformance returns daily Search and Maps data: impressions, calls, direction requests, website clicks, conversations and bookings, up to 18 months back.
- getSearchKeywords returns the searches that showed the listing, with impressions per keyword by month.
Google reports this data 2 to 3 days late, and it drops search keywords below an impression threshold it does not publish. For an unverified listing Google does not serve performance or search keywords at all.

deletePost is labeled a write tool in Ryze AI even though it removes a post permanently, so treat it as a delete when you set approvals. The full Ryze AI tool list and the other platforms on the same connector are on the Ryze AI integrations page.
Setup: connect the profile, then add the connector
The Ryze AI app features need only step 1. The connector steps are for working in Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor.
Connect Google Business Profile in Ryze AI
Open Integrations in the left sidebar, find Google Business Profile, click Connect and sign in with the Google account that owns or manages the listing. The Google screen may show the name of the connection partner instead of Ryze AI. Back in Ryze AI, pick the Location and click Save. Until you save a Location the card shows Require setup.
Add the connector to your AI client
The URL is https://connector.get-ryze.ai/mcp. In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors, click Add custom connector, name it Ryze AI and choose the workspace when asked; Claude's Free plan allows one custom connector. In ChatGPT, add it under Plugins as a custom MCP server with OAuth; OpenAI says custom MCP servers get full support on Business and Enterprise/Edu, and Pro gets read and fetch only. In Cursor, add the URL to mcp.json or use the Add to Cursor link on the Ryze AI developers page.
Refresh the tool list
Claude caches the tool list. If you connected the profile after adding the connector, remove and re-add the connector and start a new chat. In ChatGPT, remove the app, install it again and start a new chat.
You can also ask the Ryze AI agent in Claude or ChatGPT to connect Google Business Profile. It sends a one-time connection link that works once and for 24 hours. The listing needs to be verified on Google for full data. The steps are also in the Ryze AI help center.

Approvals
The Local SEO page buttons always show a draft first, and weekly proposals are applied only after you approve them. When the agent makes a change in chat, the chat's Tool approvals setting decides. In the Ryze AI chat the default is Skip all approvals, and you can switch to Approve write and delete or Manual approve. In Claude, set the write tools to Needs approval under Customize, Connectors, Ryze AI, Tool permissions.
Ryze AI shows what it changes on the listing. It does not promise a higher rank. Google says there is no way to request or pay for a better local ranking.
Google's own options for managing a profile
Everything above can also be done by hand in Google Business Profile, and Google documents what affects local ranking.
Google's help page on local ranking says results rest mainly on relevance, distance and prominence. It lists the steps it recommends: verify the business, keep information complete and accurate (address, hours, category, attributes), respond to reviews and add photos and videos. These are the same fields Ryze AI edits.
Google Business Profile on Search and Maps

- Trade-off
- No rank grid, no competitor comparison, every change by hand
Business Profile APIs
- Best for
- Developers building their own tool
- Trade-off
- Needs a Google Cloud project, an Organization account and approved API access
Ryze AI
- Best for
- One location, rank, reviews and posts in one place or in chat
- Trade-off
- One location per workspace; needs an SEO plan for the Local page
| Option | Best for | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Google Business Profile on Search and Maps | One listing you update yourself | No rank grid, no competitor comparison, every change by hand |
| Business Profile APIs | Developers building their own tool | Needs a Google Cloud project, an Organization account and approved API access |
| Ryze AI | One location, rank, reviews and posts in one place or in chat | One location per workspace; needs an SEO plan for the Local page |
Google's API prerequisites page says access to the Business Profile APIs must be requested and approved. Ryze AI connects through Google sign-in instead, with the Google account that owns or manages the listing.
Prompts to run in Ryze AI chat, Claude or ChatGPT
Each prompt says what comes back, so you can tell whether the tool did its job.
Expect a list of reviews with rating and reply status, then drafts. Nothing posts until you confirm.
Expect competitor names with categories, review counts and photos next to yours. This runs in the Ryze AI app, where the map scan lives.
Expect your current categories and candidate category names Google accepts.
Expect a draft under 1,500 characters. Remember that a post can take 24 to 48 hours to appear.
Expect daily totals and a keyword list, ending 2 to 3 days before today.
Troubleshooting

- What to do
- You signed in with a Google account that does not manage the listing. Disconnect and connect again with the one that does.

The verdict
For a business with one verified location, Ryze AI puts the map grid, the review queue, posts and listing edits in one place and lets you run the same jobs from Claude or ChatGPT. Businesses with several locations need one workspace per location, and nobody can promise a rank from these changes. Start with the map scan to see the gap, then work through the proposals one at a time.
