Quick answer
To connect Claude to HubSpot, connect HubSpot in a Ryze AI workspace with HubSpot's own sign-in, then add https://connector.get-ryze.ai/mcp as a custom connector in Claude and start a new chat.
- In Ryze AI open Integrations, find HubSpot and click Connect
- Sign in to HubSpot, choose the account and approve the permissions
- In Claude open Customize, Connectors, Add custom connector and paste the URL
- Click Connect, pick the workspace, click Allow connection, open a new chat
Before you start
- A Claude account. Anthropic lists custom connectors on every Claude plan, including Free, where you can add one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise an organization Owner adds the connector in Organization settings, Connectors, and each member then clicks Connect.
- Super Admin or App Marketplace Access in HubSpot. HubSpot only lets users with one of these permissions install apps. Anyone else has to ask a Super Admin to connect. If the portal's plan lacks a scope the app requires, HubSpot shows an error during install.
- A Ryze AI workspace on a plan or free trial. Paid Ads is $89 per month with a 7-day free trial; Agency ($279 per month) and the SEO plans also include the connector. Without a plan Claude can list your workspaces and connect platforms, but every other Ryze AI tool replies that a subscription is required.
How to connect Claude to HubSpot in claude.ai
Three steps happen in Ryze AI and HubSpot, three in Claude. The connector URL is the same for every user.
Connect HubSpot in Ryze AI
Create a Ryze AI account or sign in, open Integrations, find the HubSpot card and click Connect. Ryze AI sends you to HubSpot to authorize.
Sign in to HubSpot and choose the account
Sign in to the HubSpot account you want Claude to work with. If your login has access to more than one HubSpot account (portal), pick the one you want and click Choose Account.

Approve the permissions
HubSpot lists the access Ryze AI requests. Review it and approve. HubSpot sends you back to Ryze AI, the HubSpot card shows Connected, and View on the card shows the linked account by its HubSpot domain.

Add the custom connector in Claude
In claude.ai open Customize, then Connectors (the Connectors tab in Settings links there). Click + Add, choose Add custom connector, name it Ryze AI, paste https://connector.get-ryze.ai/mcp into the MCP server URL field and click Add or Continue. There is no client ID or secret to enter.
Click Connect and allow the workspace
Click Connect on the Ryze AI connector. On the Ryze AI page Connect your data sources to AI, sign in if asked, choose the workspace that holds your HubSpot connection under Workspaces and click Allow connection. One connection can cover up to 20 workspaces.
Open a new chat and ask your first question
Connectors only load in chats started after you connect them, so open a new chat. Ask: List the HubSpot deals created in the last 30 days with amount, stage and Original Traffic Source.
The Ryze AI help article for HubSpot covers the HubSpot side of the connection, and the Claude connector FAQ covers the connection errors.
Claude Desktop
Claude routes remote connectors through your Claude account, so a connector added on claude.ai is also available in Claude Desktop and the mobile apps. To add it from the desktop app instead, open Customize, Connectors and follow the same steps. If you prefer the config file, Ryze AI documents this entry for claude_desktop_config.json, which needs Node because it runs mcp-remote:
{
"mcpServers": {
"ryze": {
"command": "npx",
"args": ["-y", "mcp-remote", "https://connector.get-ryze.ai/mcp"]
}
}
}The file lives in ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/ on macOS and %APPDATA%\Claude\ on Windows.
Claude Code
Claude Code adds MCP servers from the command line. One command registers the connector:
claude mcp add --transport http ryze https://connector.get-ryze.ai/mcp --scope userThen open Claude Code, type /mcp, pick the Ryze AI server (ryze) and finish the sign-in in the browser tab that opens. The user scope makes the server available in all your projects; use --scope project to share it with your team through a .mcp.json file in the repository. Run claude mcp list to see whether the server shows as connected.
Claude Code is useful when the HubSpot pull feeds other work, for example writing a weekly file that joins ad spend from Google Ads with new HubSpot deals. For scripts and your own agents, Ryze AI also offers API keys (Workspace Settings, Profile, API keys) sent as a Bearer token.
ChatGPT, Cursor and Windsurf
The same URL works in other MCP clients. HubSpot is connected once in Ryze AI, so nothing changes on the HubSpot side.
ChatGPT
Needs a Plus, Pro or Business plan with Developer mode. Open Settings, Apps, Advanced settings, turn on Developer mode, click Create app, enter the name Ryze AI and the URL https://connector.get-ryze.ai/mcp, choose OAuth, then click Sign in with Ryze AI and allow the workspace. ChatGPT saves the tool list at install time, so if you connect HubSpot in Ryze AI afterwards, remove the app and install it again.
Cursor and Windsurf
Add the server to .cursor/mcp.json as shown below. Windsurf uses the same entry with the key serverUrl instead of url.
{ "mcpServers": { "ryze": { "url": "https://connector.get-ryze.ai/mcp" } } }HubSpot permissions and scopes
The HubSpot side of the connection is a standard HubSpot OAuth app install. Three things decide what Claude can see.
- Who can connect
- A HubSpot Super Admin or a user with App Marketplace Access; anyone else needs a Super Admin to do the install. If the portal's plan lacks a scope the app requires, HubSpot shows an error during install.
- Which account
- One connection is one HubSpot account (portal). If your login sees several, HubSpot asks you to choose one. You can add more portals to the same Ryze AI workspace later with Add one more account.
- What the token covers
- HubSpot notes that an access token carries the scopes the app requested, and the installing user's own record limits do not apply. A user who can only view their own contacts but grants a contacts read scope gives the app a token that can read all contacts. Connect with a login whose reach you are comfortable sharing.
Scopes behind each action
Ryze AI's help center lists what the agent can do once HubSpot is connected. The table maps each action to the HubSpot scope name from HubSpot's scope reference, so you can match it against the consent screen. The consent screen itself is the source of truth for the exact list.
| Action in Ryze AI | HubSpot scope |
|---|---|
| Read and edit contacts | crm.objects.contacts.read, crm.objects.contacts.write |
| Read and edit companies | crm.objects.companies.read, crm.objects.companies.write |
| Read and edit deals | crm.objects.deals.read, crm.objects.deals.write |
| Read contact lists | crm.lists.read |
| Look up record owners | crm.objects.owners.read |
| Read and edit CMS blog content | content (HubSpot lists it for CMS Hub Professional or Enterprise, or Marketing Hub Professional or Enterprise) |
Sources: HubSpot's scope reference, working with OAuth and OAuth quickstart.
Removing access
To remove access, uninstall the app in HubSpot under Settings, Integrations, Connected Apps, Actions, Uninstall. In Ryze AI, click View on the HubSpot card and use the trash icon to disconnect a portal. In Claude, open Customize, Connectors, Ryze AI and click Disconnect.
What Claude can do in HubSpot
The Ryze AI connector exposes five HubSpot tools. Each runs as the HubSpot account you connected.
| Tool | Type | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| read | Read | Fetches any HubSpot API resource by path, such as a contact by ID, the contact property list, owners, or blog posts. |
| search | Read | Runs the HubSpot CRM Search API on contacts, companies, deals or a custom object. Filter groups are joined with OR, filters inside a group with AND, up to 200 results per page. |
| listObjects | Read | Lists records of one object type, up to 100 per page, with the properties you name and the IDs of associated records. |
| write | Write | Creates or updates contacts, companies, deals, custom object records and CMS blog posts, and creates associations between records. |
| delete | Delete | Archives a record or blog post by ID. Most CRM deletes go to HubSpot's recycling bin; deleted blog posts may not be recoverable. |
You choose which tools need your approval in Claude. In Customize, Connectors, Ryze AI, Tool permissions, keep read tools on automatic and set write and delete tools to Needs approval, so Claude asks before it changes a record.
First 3 prompts to run
The prompts below rely on traffic source properties that HubSpot sets automatically on contacts. Original Traffic Source is the first known source, with values such as Paid search, Paid social, Organic search and Direct traffic. For Paid search, drill-down 1 holds the utm_campaign value. For Paid social, drill-down 1 holds the social site and drill-down 2 holds the utm_campaign value. Companies and deals associated with a contact mirror these properties.
1. Deals by original source
List the HubSpot deals created in the last 30 days with deal name, amount, stage and Original Traffic Source. Group them by source and total the amount for each source.
Tools used: HubSpot search on deals
What comes back: A table of deals grouped by source with a count and total amount per source, plus any deals that have no source value.
2. Google Ads spend against new HubSpot contacts
Pull Google Ads spend by campaign for the last 30 days. Then find HubSpot contacts created in the same period whose Original Traffic Source is Paid search, match Original Traffic Source drill-down 1 to the campaign names, and show spend, new contacts and spend per new contact for each campaign.
Tools used: Google Ads GAQL query, HubSpot search on contacts
What comes back: One row per Google Ads campaign with spend, matched contacts and spend per contact, and a separate list of campaigns and drill-down values that did not match by name.
3. Meta Ads campaigns to deals
Pull Meta Ads spend by campaign for the last 30 days. Find HubSpot contacts with Original Traffic Source Paid social whose drill-down 2 matches a campaign name, then list the deals associated with those contacts with amount and stage.
Tools used: Meta Ads insights, HubSpot search and listObjects with associations
What comes back: For each Meta campaign: spend, matched contacts, associated deals with amount and stage, and the total open and won deal amount.
Each answer comes from your own accounts, so this page describes what comes back instead of showing sample numbers. The Google Ads and Meta Ads parts need those platforms connected in the same Ryze AI workspace.
Ryze AI vs HubSpot's own connector and MCP server
HubSpot publishes its own connector for Claude and a remote MCP server. They suit different jobs.
| Option | Setup | HubSpot coverage | Other platforms | Works in |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ryze AI connector | HubSpot sign-in inside Ryze AI, then one custom connector URL in Claude | Contacts, companies, deals, contact lists, owners and CMS blog content. Read, create, update and delete | Google Ads, Meta Ads, GA4, Search Console, Shopify, TikTok Ads and more on the same URL | claude.ai, Claude Desktop, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor |
| HubSpot connector for Claude | Claude Settings, Connectors, Browse, HubSpot, Connect. Super Admins and users with App Marketplace Access connect directly; other users need a Super Admin to approve the connector first | CRM records, activities, campaigns, website and blog content, commerce objects, pipelines and properties. View, create and update; no delete; bulk changes of up to 10 records per request | HubSpot only | Claude web, desktop and mobile on paid Claude plans (Pro, Max, Team, Enterprise) |
| HubSpot remote MCP server | Create an MCP connector in HubSpot under Development, MCP Connectors, then give your client the URL https://mcp.hubspot.com, a client ID and secret. OAuth with PKCE | Read and write on CRM records and more, limited by the scopes granted at install and the user's HubSpot permissions | HubSpot only | Any MCP client that supports OAuth with PKCE |
If the work stays inside HubSpot, HubSpot's own connector covers more HubSpot objects and is the simpler choice. HubSpot's ads tool reports attributed contacts and deals per ad inside HubSpot. The Ryze AI connector puts live Google Ads and Meta Ads data and HubSpot records in the same Claude chat, so Claude can join them in one answer.

HubSpot errors and fixes
- HubSpot shows an error during the install
- Your HubSpot user is not a Super Admin or lacks App Marketplace Access, or the portal's plan lacks a scope the app requires. Ask a Super Admin to connect HubSpot in Ryze AI, or to grant you the permission.
- The wrong HubSpot account is connected
- Each connection is one portal. Click View on the HubSpot card in Ryze AI, connect the right portal with Add one more account, then remove the wrong one with the trash icon.
- The HubSpot connection stopped working
- The token was revoked or permissions changed, for example after someone uninstalled the app under Connected Apps in HubSpot. Click Reconnect on the HubSpot card and authorize again.
- A field is missing from the results
- HubSpot returns a default set of properties unless the request names others. Ask Claude for the exact properties you need, such as Original Traffic Source drill-down 1.
- A whole object type is missing
- The connected HubSpot user may not have access to it. Check the user's permissions in HubSpot, or reconnect with a user who has that access.
- Results stop at 100 or 200 records
- listObjects returns up to 100 records per page and search up to 200. Ask Claude to keep paging until there are no more results.
- Campaign names do not match between the ad platform and HubSpot
- Drill-down values come from the utm_campaign parameter on your ad URLs. Campaigns without it, or with a utm_campaign that differs from the campaign name, will not match by name; ask Claude to list the unmatched values.
- HubSpot tools do not appear in Claude
- Claude caches the tool list when you add the connector. If HubSpot was connected in Ryze AI afterwards, remove the Ryze AI connector, add it again and open a new chat.
- Claude says a subscription is required
- The HubSpot tools need an active Ryze AI plan or free trial. Start the trial or update the card under Organization Settings, Billing, then retry.
Frequently asked questions
How do I connect Claude to HubSpot?
Connect HubSpot in a Ryze AI workspace: open Integrations, click Connect on HubSpot, sign in, choose the account and approve the permissions. Then in claude.ai open Customize, Connectors, Add custom connector, paste https://connector.get-ryze.ai/mcp, click Connect, allow the workspace and start a new chat.
Does HubSpot have its own Claude connector?
Yes. HubSpot launched the HubSpot connector for Claude on July 29, 2025. It needs a paid Claude plan (Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise), can view, create and update HubSpot records, and does not support delete. HubSpot also runs a remote MCP server at mcp.hubspot.com for other MCP clients.
Which HubSpot connector should I use with Claude?
If you only work inside HubSpot, HubSpot's own connector covers more HubSpot objects. Ryze AI is the best HubSpot connector for tying Google Ads and Meta Ads spend to HubSpot contacts and deals in Claude, because one connection carries HubSpot and the ad platforms together.
What HubSpot permissions do I need to connect Claude?
You need to be a Super Admin or have App Marketplace Access in HubSpot; otherwise a Super Admin has to connect it. The portal must also include every scope the app requires, or HubSpot shows an error during install.
Which Claude plan do I need?
Anthropic lists custom connectors on every Claude plan. On Free you can add one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise an organization Owner adds the Ryze AI connector first, then each member clicks Connect.
Can Claude edit or delete HubSpot records?
Yes. Through Ryze AI, Claude can create and update contacts, companies, deals and CMS blog posts, and delete records or blog posts when you ask. Most CRM deletes go to HubSpot's recycling bin; deleted blog posts may not be recoverable. Set write and delete tools to Needs approval in Claude so it asks first.
Can Claude tell which ads produced a HubSpot contact or deal?
It can read the traffic source properties HubSpot sets: Original Traffic Source and its drill-downs, which deals and companies mirror from their contacts. With Google Ads or Meta Ads connected in the same workspace, Claude matches the utm_campaign values in those drill-downs to campaign names and adds the spend.
Can I connect more than one HubSpot account?
Yes. Click View on the HubSpot card in Ryze AI and choose Add one more account. The starred account is the primary that Claude uses by default; name another account in chat to switch. For separate clients, use one Ryze AI workspace per client; one Claude connection covers up to 20 workspaces.
Does this work in Claude Desktop, Claude Code and ChatGPT?
Yes. Connectors added on claude.ai are available in Claude Desktop. In Claude Code run claude mcp add --transport http ryze https://connector.get-ryze.ai/mcp --scope user, then /mcp to sign in. ChatGPT needs Developer mode on a Plus, Pro or Business plan.
Why do the HubSpot tools not show up in Claude?
Claude caches the connector's tool list when you add it. If you connected HubSpot in Ryze AI after adding the connector, remove the Ryze AI connector in Customize, Connectors, add it again and open a new chat.
How much does it cost to connect Claude to HubSpot?
Adding the connector costs nothing, but the HubSpot tools need an active Ryze AI plan or free trial. Paid Ads is $89 per month with a 7-day free trial, Agency is $279 per month, and SEO Starter is $129 per month with a 3-day free trial. Annual billing takes 30% off the first year.
How do I disconnect HubSpot from Claude?
Uninstall the app in HubSpot under Settings, Integrations, Connected Apps. You can also disconnect the portal in Ryze AI with the trash icon on the HubSpot card, or remove the Ryze AI connector in Claude under Customize, Connectors.
