The 10 Black Friday social media post ideas, one by one

Each idea has an example post for Fennick & Rye, a candle shop we made up, and a Copy this line. Prices and percentages are examples.

Adobe measured social media at 3.6% of Cyber Monday 2025 online revenue, up 56.5% year over year, and Salesforce saw social platforms bring 16% of US traffic to retail sites in Cyber Week 2025.

1. Start-date teaser video

A start-date teaser is a 10 to 15 second vertical video that names the start date and hides the price. 1 clip works on TikTok, Reels and YouTube Shorts; Shorts can run up to 3 minutes, but a teaser needs 15 seconds.

Example Black Friday social media post: countdown teaser video on a phone for a candle shop
Example ad for a fictional brand, AI-generated: start date on screen, price hidden.

Copy this: "Something warm is coming" and "Sale starts Nov 27" on screen over the product in use. Post Nov 16, 19, 22 and 25, each with a new first shot; hooks are in Black Friday ad copy.

2. Deal reveal post

The deal reveal is the only post with the full offer and the real end date. Post it everywhere on Thanksgiving evening and pin it. Adobe found 61.6% of Thanksgiving 2025 online sales were on mobile, so check it on a phone.

Example Black Friday deal reveal post: 25% off candles and ceramics, Nov 27 to Nov 30
Example ad for a fictional brand, AI-generated: the offer and the real end date.

Copy this: "Black Friday is here", "25% off everything" and "Nov 27 to Nov 30" (an example offer) on 1 image and in the caption. Pick the offer with the promotion ideas and margin math.

3. Gift guide pins by budget

Gift guide pins are tall Pinterest images that group products by price. Pinterest recommends a 2:3 image at 1000 x 1500 pixels and titles up to 100 characters, of which only the first 40 may show in feeds.

Example Black Friday Pinterest gift guide pins by price and for hosts from a candle and ceramics shop
Example ad for a fictional brand, AI-generated: a price band or recipient leads each pin title.

Copy this: 3 pins titled "Gifts under $25", "Gifts under $40" and "Gifts for hosts", each linking to a matching collection. Pin them Nov 16 to 24.

4. TikTok packing video

A packing video shows real orders being wrapped by the people who run the store. It proves a person is behind a small shop and needs no script: 20 seconds on a phone, posted to TikTok and Reels.

Example Black Friday behind-the-scenes post: a woman packing candle orders in a small studio
Example ad for a fictional brand, AI-generated: real packing, 1 line of text.

Copy this: "Packing your Black Friday orders" on screen and your real shipping cutoff in the caption. Post Nov 20 and Nov 29.

5. Facebook Group early access

An early-access post gives followers the sale 3 days early. Post it on your Facebook Page or in your Facebook Group, where everyone already knows the store. For Instagram's Broadcast channel, see Black Friday Instagram post ideas.

Example Black Friday Facebook post: early access for followers at a ceramics shop, Nov 24
Example ad for a fictional brand, AI-generated: the early-access date on the post, same offer 3 days early.

Copy this: "Early access for followers" and "Starts Nov 24", announced Nov 23. Use the main sale offer, so the only perk is time.

Ideas 6 to 10

6. Gifted creator video

A gifted creator video is a video by a creator who got your product, posted on their own account. Send products this week. The FTC says a free product must be disclosed in the video itself, and the description alone falls short.

Example Black Friday creator collab post: a woman shows a candle gift with an #ad label
Example ad for a fictional brand, AI-generated: #ad on screen from the start.

Copy this: 1 honest video titled "My Black Friday gift picks" with "#ad" on screen and said out loud, plus written permission to run it as an ad.

7. 30-second demo Short

A demo Short shows 1 product doing its job in 30 seconds, which suits refills, kits and anything with a moving part. Post it on YouTube Shorts and TikTok; hands-only footage works.

Example Black Friday YouTube Shorts demo: hands refilling a ceramic candle for a home goods shop
Example ad for a fictional brand, AI-generated: 1 product shown in use, plus the sale line.

Copy this: "How the refill works", 3 close-up steps, then "Refill kits in the sale". Post Nov 18 and again Nov 29 as a Cyber Monday reminder.

8. Small Business Saturday founder story

Small Business Saturday is November 28, 2026, the day after Black Friday. A founder story shows who makes the products in 1 real photo; post it on Facebook and as a personal LinkedIn post. More: Black Friday ideas for small businesses.

Example Small Business Saturday founder story post for Black Friday weekend at a candle shop
Example ad for a fictional brand, AI-generated: 1 real photo and the date.

Copy this: "Meet the maker" and "Small Business Saturday, Nov 28" on the photo, 3 caption lines (who, what, the sale) and #ShopSmall, the tag the SBA promotes.

9. Cyber Monday poll on X or LinkedIn

A Cyber Monday poll lets followers vote on which product gets the Monday deal, which gives them a reason to come back. X and LinkedIn have built-in polls; elsewhere, collect votes in the comments.

Example Black Friday social media poll: followers pick the Cyber Monday deal at a candle shop
Example ad for a fictional brand, AI-generated: 2 options for the second offer.

Copy this: "You pick the Cyber Monday deal" with "Candle trio" and "Mug pair" on Nov 28 and 29, then the winner with a real end time on Nov 30. More in Cyber Monday ad ideas.

10. GivingTuesday wrap-up post

A wrap-up post closes the sale on GivingTuesday, December 1, 2026. Thank buyers, say the sale has ended and, if you support a cause, say exactly what you gave.

Example Black Friday thank-you post for a candle shop: handwritten card and Giving Tuesday tag
Example ad for a fictional brand, AI-generated: a thank-you that ends the sale.

Copy this: "Thank you for shopping small" and "Giving Tuesday, Dec 1" on a photo of a handwritten card, with your shipping cutoff in the caption.

AI labels per platform for Black Friday posts

A realistic AI person, scene or voice usually needs a label. AI help with a caption or script usually does not.

  1. TikTok

    What needs a label
Realistic AI images, audio or video
    How it shows
    AI-generated label, sticker or caption
  2. YouTube

    What needs a label
    Realistic altered or synthetic content
    How it shows
AI use setting in YouTube Studio
  3. Facebook and Instagram

    What needs a label
Photorealistic video, realistic audio; images exempt
    How it shows
AI info label, by you or Meta
  4. Pinterest

    What needs a label
Image Pins it detects as AI-made or edited
    How it shows
    AI modified label in close-up
  5. LinkedIn

    What needs a label
    Files with C2PA Content Credentials
    How it shows
C2PA icon showing the file origin
  6. X

    What needs a label
No rule we could verify for product posts
    How it shows
Write Made with AI in the post

Sources: TikTok requires labels on realistic AI content; YouTube exempts captions, filters and AI scripts; Meta warns of penalties when a required label is missing; Pinterest detects AI with metadata and classifiers; LinkedIn cannot yet identify all AI content.

Simple rule for small stores: label every realistic AI person, on every platform.

Rules for Black Friday social posts: creators, reviews, shipping

Organic posts follow the same truth rules as ads.

  • Creator posts. The FTC says to superimpose the disclosure on images and put it in videos, use words such as "ad" or "sponsored", skip tags such as "spon" or "collab", and never rely on a platform tool alone.
  • Customer reposts. Under the FTC reviews rule, in effect since October 21, 2024, a review you feature becomes a testimonial you answer for, and a perk for reviewing cannot require a positive one. Ask before reposting a customer photo.
  • Shipping promises. For delivery before December 25, USPS recommends sending by Dec 17 for Ground Advantage and Dec 18 for Priority Mail in the lower 48 states. Post your real cutoff.

A was-price must be the actual, bona fide price you regularly offered for a reasonably substantial period (16 CFR 233.1), and a countdown must end when it says.

4 AI prompts for Black Friday social media posts

Paste these into Claude or ChatGPT and replace the brackets. More video prompts: ChatGPT prompts for TikTok ads.

Prompt 1: 1 offer, 6 platforms
My store sells [products]. The Black Friday offer is [offer], from [start] to [end]. Write 1 post each for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn and X: on-image text under 6 words, a caption sized for that app, and the best day between Nov 16 and Dec 1, 2026. Claim nothing beyond the offer.
Prompt 2: a 15-second teaser
Write 5 scripts for a 15-second vertical teaser for [product]: first shot, on-screen text including "Sale starts Nov 27", seconds 3 to 12, last frame. No price, no resetting countdown, no stock claims.
Prompt 3: a creator brief
Write a 1-page brief for a creator who gets [product] free: 1 video idea, 3 true product points, 5 claims to avoid, "#ad" on screen and spoken early, posting window Nov 20 to 30, and a request for written permission to run the video as an ad.
Prompt 4: which posts to boost
Here are my Black Friday posts with views, saves, shares, link clicks and sales: [paste table]. Rank them by link clicks per 1,000 views, pick 3 to run as ads from Nov 24, and name the number that should stop each one.

How to test the posts cheaply, then turn winners into ads

Post organic first, read the numbers after 48 hours, and pay only to show winners to more people.

  1. Judge by actions. Saves, shares and link clicks per 1,000 views beat likes. Example threshold: twice your average link clicks.
  2. TikTok: Spark Ads run an organic post as an ad; creator authorizations default to 365 days, and daily budgets must exceed $20 per ad group. Example: 2 posts at $30 a day each for 4 days is a $240 test.
  3. Instagram: a creator's partnership ad code lets you run their post as your ad with both accounts in the header. Budgets: Meta ads minimum budget guide.
  4. LinkedIn: Thought Leader Ads sponsor a member's post once the author approves, which suits the founder story.
  5. Pinterest, YouTube and X: promote only posts that already earned clicks; YouTube videos run as ads through Google Ads.

Start boosts on Nov 24 to get 3 days of data. TikTok formats: Black Friday TikTok ads.
