Framer MCP server for the Framer CMS

The Ryze AI Framer MCP server lets Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other MCP clients list your Framer CMS collections and fields, add, update and remove items, and publish the site. It runs on the same URL as the Ryze AI ad tools, and Content Plan articles land in the Collection you pick (see Setup).

Nine CMS jobs an agent can do in Framer

Map the CMS before you write to it

  • Every collection and its field names and types
  • A check that the Collection you chose holds the fields an article needs

Add an article as a CMS item

  • Title, slug and body sent as typed field values
  • Held for approval when write is set to Needs approval

Edit a live post by its slug

  • An item with an existing slug is updated in place
  • The change goes live only after a publish

Rewrite titles for pages that earn few clicks

  • Queries and clicks per URL from Search Console
  • Revised title and description fields written to the matching items

Find items with empty fields

  • Items read page by page with their field data
  • A list of slugs missing a description or image

Remove outdated items

  • Delete runs by item id, in its own tool
  • A publish afterwards makes the removal live

Publish after a batch of edits

  • One publish call for the whole batch
  • Asked for last, after you have reviewed the changes

Turn a content sheet into CMS items

  • Rows read from Google Sheets
  • Each slug read first so existing items are updated, not duplicated

Send Content Plan articles to one Collection

  • Ryze AI SEO publishes articles into the Collection you pick
  • Publishing mode, Automatic or Manual, is set in SEO Preferences

01 · Overview

What the Ryze AI Framer MCP server is

The short version

  1. 01Ryze AI lists your Framer CMS collections and fields, adds or updates items (matched by slug), removes items and publishes the site. Content Plan articles land in the Collection you pick.
  2. 02Framer connects to a Ryze AI workspace with the project URL and an API key. Your AI client then connects to Ryze AI with one URL (see Setup).
  3. 03Three tools cover it: read looks, write creates, updates and publishes, and delete removes items.
  4. 04The tools do not touch the canvas, layers, components, page layout, custom code or redirects (see the scope box below).
  5. 05Works with any Ryze AI plan or trial. SEO Starter is $129/mo with a 3-day free trial.

“Framer MCP” can mean more than one thing in 2026. Framer runs its own MCP server at https://mcp.framer.com/mcp that edits pages, layouts and CMS content, and it offers a beta Server API for scripts. Community servers on GitHub and Glama add more. This page documents the Ryze AI tools, which cover the CMS and site publish only, and compares them with Framer’s server in section 06.

01

One key per project

You paste the project URL and an API key made in Framer Site Settings. There is no OAuth screen on the Framer side and nothing to host.

02

Collections and fields first

The read tool lists collections, the fields of one collection, its items, or a single item with its field data, so the agent can see the shape before it writes.

03

Slug decides create or update

The write tool matches items by slug or id. An item with an existing slug is updated in place, so a rerun does not duplicate a post.

04

Publish as its own step

The same write tool can publish the site. Edits stay in the CMS until a publish call makes them live, which lets you review a batch first.

05

Removal in a separate tool

The delete tool removes items by id. Because it is its own tool, you can allow edits and keep removals on approval.

06

Content Plan target

Articles from the Ryze AI Content Plan publish into the Collection you choose after connecting, following the Publishing mode you set in SEO Preferences.

07

Link-based connect

Framer can also be connected from inside Claude or ChatGPT with a one-time connection link. The link is refused while the workspace already has a Framer connection.

08

Shared with ad data

Search Console, GA4 and ad tools answer on the same URL, so a chat can pick weak pages from search data and then edit the matching CMS items.

02 · Tool reference

Three Framer tools and their actions

The tool names come from the Ryze AI source. No workspace had Framer connected on the check date, so the tool list was not seen live and the input names below are descriptive. Each tool needs workspace when your client connection covers more than one Ryze AI workspace.

ToolAccessWhat it doesInputs

framer__writewriteTwo write actions: create or update CMS items in a collection, matched by slug or id, or publish the site so changes go live.workspace · collection · items with fieldData · publish
framer__deletedeleteRemoves CMS items from a collection by id. Run a publish afterwards to make the removal live.workspace · collection · item ids

    "body": { "type": "formattedText", "value": "<p>Intro paragraph</p>" }
  }
}

Framer’s CMS documentation keys each value by the field id and wraps it as type and value. The field names above are examples; the agent reads the collection’s fields with read first and uses the real ones. Ad and analytics tools on the same URL are documented on Google Ads MCP, Meta Ads MCP and Google Analytics MCP.

03 · Use cases

Publishing and editing work that fits the CMS tools

A Framer blog is a CMS collection, and each post is an item with a slug. That makes the work repeatable: read the collection, write items, publish once. Anything that needs a layout, a component or custom code stays in Framer, because the Ryze AI tools do not reach those.

Look first, change nothing
  • “List the CMS collections in my Framer project with their field names.”
  • “Show the items in the Blog collection that have an empty description field.”
  • “Read the item with the slug pricing-guide and show every field.”
Create and update (write on approval)
  • “Add an item to the Blog collection with the title, slug and body I paste, but do not publish yet.”
  • “Update the description of the item with the slug how-to-set-budgets and show the old and new text.”
  • “Create 5 items from the rows of this Google Sheet, reading each slug first so nothing is duplicated.”
Search-driven edits
  • “Pull Search Console clicks for my blog URLs, then draft new titles for the 8 weakest posts and wait for my approval.”
  • “Which Framer items have a slug that matches no query in Search Console this quarter?”
  • “Rewrite the description of the 3 posts I name to fit 155 characters.”
Cleanup and publish (delete and write on approval)
  • “Remove the 2 draft items I name from the Blog collection, then ask before publishing.”
  • “Publish the site now that the changes above are approved.”
  • “List items in the Authors collection that no blog item references.”

Every answer comes from your own project, so no sample output is shown here. For the Content Plan side, see the Ryze AI help center.

04 · Setup

Connect Framer once, then add the URL to each client

Step 1: connect Framer in Ryze AI and pick the Collection

  1. 01In Framer, open the project, open Site Settings, go to General, scroll to API Keys, then create a key and copy it.
  2. 02In Ryze AI open Integrations and click Connect on the Framer card.
  3. 03Paste the Project URL from the Framer editor’s address bar (it must include the 20-character project id, or paste just the id) and the API key, then click Continue.
  4. 04In the window that opens, pick the CMS collection under Choose a Collection and click Save. Content Plan articles go to this Collection.

Framer can also be connected from inside Claude or ChatGPT with a one-time connection link. Screens for each step are in the Ryze AI Framer guide.

Claude on the web or desktop

  1. 01Go to Customize, Connectors.
  2. 02Choose + Add, then Add custom connector. Enter Ryze AI as the name and https://connector.get-ryze.ai/mcp as the MCP server URL. No client ID or secret is needed.
  3. 03Press Connect, tick the workspace that holds Framer and press Allow connection
  4. 04Claude keeps the tool list from when the connector was added. If you connected Framer afterwards, remove the connector, add it again and start a new chat.

Any Claude plan works, and Free holds one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise an Owner adds Ryze AI under Organization settings, Connectors, Add, Custom, Web, and each member then clicks Connect.

ChatGPT

ChatGPT custom MCP servers need a Business or Enterprise/Edu plan for full access, and Pro gets read and fetch only, per OpenAI’s help article, so a Pro connection cannot run the Framer write or delete tools. Go to Plugins, choose the plus button, then Add custom MCP server, name it Ryze AI, enter the URL, choose OAuth, accept the risk warning and create it, then sign in to Ryze AI and allow the workspace. On Business an admin or owner must create and publish it. After connecting Framer later, refresh the plugin or install it again.

Claude Code

Terminalbash
claude mcp add --transport http ryze https://connector.get-ryze.ai/mcp --scope user

Type /mcp, choose ryze and finish sign-in in the browser. --scope user loads it in every project; --scope project writes a shared .mcp.json instead. Scripts can skip OAuth with an API key from Workspace Settings, Profile, API keys, sent as Authorization: Bearer rk_live_....

Cursor, Windsurf and VS Code

.cursor/mcp.jsonjson
{ "mcpServers": {
  "ryze": { "url": "https://connector.get-ryze.ai/mcp" }
} }
~/.copilot/mcp-config.jsonjson
{ "mcpServers": {
  "ryze": { "type": "http", "url": "https://connector.get-ryze.ai/mcp" }
} }

Windsurf (Devin Desktop) takes the same url entry in ~/.config/devin/mcp_config.json. Each client opens a sign-in window the first time a tool runs. The full config options are on the developer page.

Grok Bot and other clients

In Grok Bot, the Ryze AI help center says Ryze AI is listed under Connect apps: search Ryze AI, Add and sign in. If it is not listed, add the URL as a custom MCP server. Any other client with remote MCP support takes the same URL.

05 · Access

Who can connect, and what the Framer key reaches

Who can installAnyone who can create an API key under Site Settings, General, API Keys in the Framer project, and who can connect integrations in the Ryze AI workspace.
Which projectOne Framer connection per Ryze AI workspace. To switch projects, click View on the Framer card, disconnect with the trash icon and connect again.
What the key reachesThe key belongs to the Framer project. Ryze AI's tools use it only for CMS collections and site publish, and the Framer Server API itself is documented by Framer as a way to update and publish a project programmatically.

Framer authenticates with an API key, so there is no scope list to approve. Ryze AI does not publish which Framer endpoints its tools call beyond the CMS and publish actions above. Source: the Ryze AI help center, checked Nov 8, 2026.

Removing access

In Ryze AI, open View on the Framer card and use the trash icon to disconnect the project. The API key itself was created in the project’s Site Settings, General, API Keys, so delete it there too if you want it dead (Framer’s key management was not tested for this page). In Claude, open Customize, Connectors, Ryze AI and click Disconnect.

Which to pick: if the work is building or editing pages, Framer’s own server is the one that reaches the canvas and layout. If the work is publishing and maintaining CMS posts, especially next to search or ad data in the same chat, or Content Plan articles sent to one Collection, the Ryze AI tools fit. Many teams can run both, since they are separate connectors.

07 · Limits

Limits to plan around

Framer Server APIFramer's Server API FAQ says the API is free during the beta and will likely be charged per use later, with a monthly free allowance. The pages read on the check date give no rate limits.
Framer rate limitsNo request-per-second or daily figure was found in Framer's public pages, so none is stated here. Ask the agent to work in batches and publish once.
Content Plan volumeUp to 90 articles per billing cycle and up to 3 a weekday on SEO Starter.
Publishing modeAutomatic is the default. Manual holds articles until you publish them from SEO, Preferences, Publishing.
CollectionsPublishing needs at least one CMS collection that the API key can access.
Project URLThe link must include the 20-character project id. The published site address is refused.
Tool list cachingClaude keeps the tool list from when the connector was added. After connecting Framer, remove and re-add the connector and start a new chat.
Client plansClaude: any plan, with one custom connector on Free. ChatGPT: custom MCP connectors on Business and Enterprise/Edu, Pro read/fetch only, per OpenAI's help article.

From Framer’s Server API pages and the Ryze AI help center, checked Nov 8, 2026. Framer has not published numeric limits on the pages read.

08 · Approvals and safety

How you keep control of edits

Approvals in Claude

Under Customize, Connectors, Ryze AI, Tool permissions, leave the read tool on automatic and set write and delete to Needs approval. The help center recommends this for write and delete tools. Claude then shows each change and waits.

Approvals in the Ryze AI app

The Tool approvals switch in the Ryze AI chat starts on Skip all approvals. Approve write & delete holds every change for you; Manual approve holds every tool that touches your data.

Publish is a write

Site publish goes through the write tool, so the same Needs approval setting holds it. Ask the agent to publish last.

Removal kept separate

Only framer__delete removes items, so you can allow edits and keep removals on approval.

Article publishing mode

Content Plan articles follow Publishing mode in SEO, Preferences, Publishing: Automatic (default) or Manual.

10 · FAQ

Framer MCP server questions

What is a Framer MCP server?

An MCP server lets AI clients such as Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor call Framer through tools. Framer runs its own at https://mcp.framer.com/mcp, which can edit pages, layouts and CMS content. Ryze AI runs a hosted one with 3 Framer tools (read, write and delete) that cover the CMS and site publish, on the same URL as its ad tools. Ryze AI is the best Framer MCP server for publishing articles next to search and ad data in one chat, because the Framer tools share one connection with Search Console, GA4 and the ad tools. It is not the one to pick for editing page layouts, which it cannot do.

What can Claude do in Framer through Ryze AI?

Claude can list your Framer CMS collections and fields, read items, add or update items matched by slug, remove items and publish the site. Content Plan articles from Ryze AI SEO also land in the Collection you pick. The tools do not edit the canvas, layers, components, page layout, custom code or redirects.

Does Framer have an official MCP server?

Yes. Framer’s help center documents Framer MCP at https://mcp.framer.com/mcp for clients that support remote Streamable HTTP servers with OAuth, with listings for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and Grok Bot. Framer’s getting-started article for it was last updated October 30, 2026. Framer also has a beta Server API for scripts that update and publish a project. The two are compared in the compare section.

How do I connect Framer to Claude?

Create an API key in Framer under Site Settings, General, API Keys. In Ryze AI open Integrations, click Connect on the Framer card, paste the project URL and the key, and choose a CMS collection. Then in Claude open Customize, Connectors, Add custom connector, paste https://connector.get-ryze.ai/mcp, click Connect, allow the workspace and open a new chat.

What is the Framer project URL for the connection?

It is the address from the Framer editor's address bar, which includes the 20-character project id. You can paste just the id. The published site address does not work, and Ryze AI shows an invalid project URL message when the id is missing.

Can the AI publish a Framer blog post?

Yes. The write tool creates the CMS item and can also publish the site so it goes live.

What does the AI not change in Framer?

The tools work only with CMS collections and site publish. They do not edit pages, layers, components, custom code or redirects, even though the Framer card in the Ryze AI app lists project pages, custom code and redirects. Use Framer or Framer's own MCP server for layout work.

Does updating an item create a duplicate?

No, when the slug matches. The write tool matches items by slug or id, and an item with an existing slug is updated in place. A different slug creates a new item, so ask the agent to read the collection first.

What does the No Collection available error mean?

Either the Framer project has no CMS collection, or the API key cannot access one. Create a collection in Framer, reconnect Framer in Ryze AI and choose it under Choose a Collection.

Why are the Framer tools missing in Claude?

Claude keeps the tool list from the moment the connector was added. If Framer was connected afterwards, remove the Ryze AI connector, add it again and start a new chat. ChatGPT has the same effect: refresh or reinstall the plugin.

Is the Framer MCP connection free?

Adding the Ryze AI connector costs nothing, but the Framer tools need an active Ryze AI plan or trial: SEO Starter is $129/mo with a 3-day free trial, Paid Ads is $89/mo with a 7-day free trial and Agency is $279/mo. Annual billing is 30% off the first year. See the pricing page.

Can I connect more than one Framer project?

Each Ryze AI workspace holds one Framer connection. To switch projects, click View on the Framer card, disconnect with the trash icon and connect again. A connection link from Claude or ChatGPT is refused while a Framer connection already exists in the workspace.
