What the Ryze AI Mixpanel MCP server is
The short version

“Mixpanel MCP” can mean two things in 2026. Mixpanel hosts its own MCP server at https://mcp.mixpanel.com/mcp (with EU and India hosts) that gives AI assistants access to events, funnels, flows, retention and session replays. Ryze AI runs a hosted connector that calls the Mixpanel Query API with a service account, on the same URL as its ad and search tools. This page documents the Ryze AI connector and compares the two in section 06.

A service account, not a login
You create a Mixpanel service account with at least the Analyst role and give Ryze AI its username, secret, Project ID and data residency. Nobody shares a personal Mixpanel password.

Segmentation over any range
Event counts, numeric buckets and sums for a date range, split by a property and filtered, the same questions the Mixpanel Insights report answers.

Funnels, including saved ones
The tool reads funnel conversion between steps and can open a saved funnel by its ID, so a funnel your team already built is one question away.

Retention
Retention for a cohort window, so a question such as week 4 retention for September sign-ups goes straight to the Query API.

Ask for a report by its bookmark ID and the agent reads what Mixpanel returns, then answers follow-up questions about it.

One Mixpanel tool and the questions it covers
The tool takes workspace when your client connection covers more than one Ryze AI workspace. Ryze AI’s own source lists this tool name; no workspace had Mixpanel connected when this page was written, so the tool list was not seen live.

03 · Marketing use cases
Put product events next to ad spend
The join between an ad platform and Mixpanel runs through the campaign tags you already send. If ad URLs carry utm_source and utm_campaign and your Mixpanel events record them as properties, the agent can split a funnel by that value and line it up with cost from the ad tools. Ryze AI does not add the join for you; it depends on your tracking.

Every answer comes from your own Mixpanel project and ad accounts, so no sample numbers are shown here. If a property such as utm_source is missing from your events, ask the agent to list the properties on an event first.
04 · Setup
Connect Mixpanel once, then add the URL to each client
Step 1: connect Mixpanel in Ryze AI
- 01In Mixpanel, open Organization Settings, Service Accounts, Add Service Account, and give it at least the Analyst role on the project.
- 02Copy the username and the secret (shown once). Copy the Project ID from Project Settings, Overview, and the data residency from Project Settings, Data Residency.
- 03In the Ryze AI app, open Integrations, click Connect on the Mixpanel card, fill in username, secret, Project ID and Data residency (us, eu or in), and click Continue.
- 04Prefer to stay in the chat? Ask the Ryze AI agent in Claude or ChatGPT to connect Mixpanel. It sends a one-time link, valid once and for 24 hours, to a page where you enter the same details.

Step 2: add the Ryze AI connector in Claude

- 04Start a new chat. Claude keeps the tool list from the moment the connector was added, so if you connected Mixpanel afterwards, remove the connector, add it again and open a new chat.
Anthropic lists custom connectors on Free, Pro, Max, Ultra, Team and Enterprise, and Free allows one. On Team and Enterprise an Owner adds the connector under Organization settings, Connectors, and members then click Connect. See the Ryze AI Claude guide.
ChatGPT
Open Plugins on chatgpt.com, choose the plus button, then Add custom MCP server. Name it Ryze AI, enter the URL under Connection, choose OAuth, accept the risk warning and create the plugin. Sign in to Ryze AI, choose the workspace and allow the connection. OpenAI documents full custom MCP support for ChatGPT Business and Enterprise/Edu on the web, and read and fetch only for Pro; on Business an admin or owner has to create and publish it. After connecting Mixpanel later, remove the app, add it again and start a new chat, as the Ryze AI ChatGPT guide says.

Removing access
In Mixpanel, delete the service account from Organization Settings to revoke access to every project at once, or from Project Settings to remove it from one project. In Ryze AI, open View on the Mixpanel card and use the trash icon. In Claude, open Customize, Connectors, Ryze AI and click Disconnect.

Mixpanel says its server needs an organization admin to enable MCP, and that free and growth accounts created after August 1, 2026 have it enabled by default. Which to pick: if the work stays inside Mixpanel, such as managing Lexicon, cohorts, experiments or session replays, Mixpanel’s own server covers far more. Ryze AI fits when the question crosses tools, such as funnel conversion by ad source next to Google Ads and Meta Ads cost, and when a read-only connection is a requirement.

How you keep control
Read only by design
The only Mixpanel tool is a read tool, so the connector does not change anything in Mixpanel. No write or delete tool exists to approve.
Approvals in Claude
Approvals are set per tool under Customize, Connectors, Ryze AI, Tool permissions. Claude can ask before each tool call if you want that.
Approvals in the Ryze AI app
The Tool approvals picker in the Ryze AI chat defaults to Skip all approvals. Change it if you want each tool call held for you.
Pick the service account role
Analyst is the minimum. A higher role gives the credentials more reach, so give the connection the lowest role that works.
Name the project
A connection covers one project. Agencies can keep one Ryze AI workspace per client project.

What is a Mixpanel MCP server?
An MCP server lets AI clients such as Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor call Mixpanel through tools. Mixpanel hosts its own server at https://mcp.mixpanel.com/mcp. Ryze AI runs a hosted connector with one read tool, mixpanel__read, on the same URL as its Google Ads, Meta Ads and Google Analytics tools.
Does Mixpanel have its own MCP server?
Yes. Mixpanel documents a hosted MCP server with 60+ tools for queries, reports, dashboards, data discovery, data management, cohorts, experiments, feature flags and session replays. It has US, EU and India hosts, signs in with OAuth or, in beta, service accounts, and an organization admin has to enable MCP. Ryze AI covers read-only queries on the same connector URL as its Google Ads and Meta Ads tools.
What is the Mixpanel MCP server URL?
Mixpanel’s own US server is https://mcp.mixpanel.com/mcp, with https://mcp-eu.mixpanel.com/mcp for EU and https://mcp-in.mixpanel.com/mcp for India. The Ryze AI connector is https://connector.get-ryze.ai/mcp, the same for every account; Mixpanel itself is connected inside Ryze AI with a service account.
How do I use Mixpanel with Claude?
With Ryze AI, create a Mixpanel service account with the Analyst role, connect Mixpanel on the Integrations page in Ryze AI, then in Claude open Customize, Connectors, Add custom connector, paste https://connector.get-ryze.ai/mcp, click Connect, allow the workspace and open a new chat. Is the Mixpanel MCP server free?
Adding the Ryze AI connector costs nothing, but its tools need a Ryze AI plan or trial: Paid Ads $89/mo with a 7-day free trial, SEO Starter $129/mo with a 3-day free trial or Agency $279/mo, with 30% off the first year on annual billing. Can the AI change anything in Mixpanel?
Not through Ryze AI. mixpanel__read is the only Mixpanel tool and it is read-only, so it cannot create or edit events, reports or profiles. Mixpanel's own MCP server has data management tools, so check the role and tool list before connecting it.
Which Mixpanel permissions does the connection need?
A Mixpanel service account with at least the Analyst role on the project. Mixpanel says Owner or Admin permissions are needed to create service accounts, and the secret is shown once. You also enter the numeric Project ID and the data residency, us, eu or in.
Can I connect more than one Mixpanel project?
Not in one workspace. A Ryze AI connection covers one Mixpanel project, and Mixpanel is not on the help center list of platforms that support several accounts. To switch, click View on the Mixpanel card, disconnect with the trash icon and connect again. Another project can live in another workspace, and one Claude or ChatGPT connection covers up to 20 workspaces.
Can Claude compare Mixpanel funnels with Google Ads or Meta Ads spend?
Yes, when your events carry the campaign tags. If ad URLs carry utm_source and utm_campaign and Mixpanel records them as properties, the agent can split a funnel by that value and read cost by campaign from the ad tools in the same chat. The Ryze AI Mixpanel tool reads one project and cannot edit anything.
What are the Mixpanel API limits for an MCP connection?
Mixpanel's Query API allows 60 queries per hour and 5 concurrent queries per project. A JQL query times out after 2 minutes. Mixpanel's own MCP server has a separate limit of 600 requests per user per hour.

Why does Ryze AI reject my Mixpanel credentials?
Check that the service account has at least the Analyst role on the project, that the Project ID is the number from Project Settings, Overview, and that the data residency matches Project Settings, Data Residency, then enter the details again.
Does it work on projects with Data Views?
Not guaranteed. Projects with Data Views may also need a workspace ID in the query, and Ryze AI does not promise that every such project works without it. Test on your project and name the workspace ID in the prompt if answers fail.
