Webflow MCP Server for Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor

The Ryze AI Webflow MCP server gives Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other MCP clients 3 tools to read, write and delete CMS items, edit static page SEO and Open Graph fields when the token has the optional Pages scope, and publish the site. It shares one URL with the Ryze AI Search Console and Google Analytics tools, and it does not edit layouts or styles (see Setup).

01 · Overview

What the Ryze AI Webflow tools are

The short version

  1. 01You paste a Webflow site API token into the Webflow card in Ryze AI, then pick the site and the CMS collection. Your AI client connects to Ryze AI with one URL (see Setup).
  2. 02One tool reads (webflow__read), one writes (webflow__write) and one deletes (webflow__delete).
  3. 03Writing covers CMS items as live or draft, static page SEO and Open Graph fields, and publishing the site.
  4. 04Ryze AI is the best Webflow connector for CMS items and page SEO next to ad and search data, but it makes no Designer edits: layouts, styles and components stay in Webflow or in Webflow’s own MCP server.
  5. 05Works with any Ryze AI plan or trial. SEO Starter is $129/mo with a 3-day free trial.

“Webflow MCP” points at three things. Webflow hosts its own MCP server for building and editing sites, with Designer-level tools. Developers publish community servers on GitHub. And hosted servers such as the Ryze AI one call the Webflow Data API with a site token. This page covers the Ryze AI tools and sets them beside Webflow’s server in section 06.

01

A site token, no app install

You generate a token in Webflow Site settings and paste it into the Webflow card in Ryze AI. The token only sees the site it was created on.

02

One read tool

webflow__read runs GET calls on the Data API, so the agent can list sites, pages, collections and collection items.

03

One write tool

webflow__write creates or updates CMS items as live or draft, edits static page SEO and Open Graph fields, and can publish the site.

04

Delete kept apart

webflow__delete removes a resource by path, such as a CMS item. You can allow edits and keep removals on approval.

05

Article publishing

Content Plan articles publish into the CMS collection you pick, with title, slug, body, excerpt, date and featured image filled in for you.

06

Required fields handled

When the collection has other required fields, Ryze AI copies a valid value from an existing item, or tells you at setup which field to make optional.

07

Page SEO behind a scope

Titles, meta descriptions and Open Graph edits need the optional Pages Read and write scope on the token.

08

Search data in the same chat

Search Console and Google Analytics 4 tools share the URL, so a page-title rewrite can start from how the page performs in search.

02 · Tool reference

Three Webflow tools and what each one reaches

Each tool takes a Data API path, so one call can address a site, a page, a collection or a single item. The tool names come from the Ryze AI source; no workspace had Webflow connected when this page was checked, so the list was not seen live.

ToolAccessWhat it doesInputs
webflow__readreadReads from the connected Webflow site through the Webflow Data API (GET): sites, pages, collections and collection items.path · query
webflow__writewriteCreates or updates resources on the connected site: CMS items (live or draft) and static page SEO and Open Graph fields. Can also publish the site.path · method · body
webflow__deletedeleteDeletes a resource on the connected site by path, such as a CMS item.path

A page SEO edit, as the Data API receives it

webflow__write · PUT /pages/{page_id}json
{
  "seo": {
    "title": "Pricing for a small team",
    "description": "Plans, trial length and what each plan includes."
  },
  "openGraph": {
    "title": "Pricing for a small team"
  }
}

Webflow documents this call as a PUT on /v2/pages/{page_id} that needs the pages:write scope. The values above are placeholders for the shape of the body, not output from a site.

Publishing articles into a collection

Content Plan articles go into the collection you choose at setup. Ryze AI fills these fields on its own, and handles the rest as shown.

Article partWhere it goesWho fills it
TitleMapped to the item nameAutomatic
SlugMapped to the item slugAutomatic
BodyMapped to the rich text fieldAutomatic

Featured imageMapped to the image fieldAutomatic
Other required text or option fieldsA valid value copied from an existing itemAutomatic, or setup names the field to make optional
Required image, file or multi-reference fieldsCannot be filled for youMake the field optional or give it a default in Webflow

Publishing mode follows SEO, Preferences, Publishing in Ryze AI: Automatic is the default, Manual waits for you. Sibling pages for other publishing targets: HubSpot MCP server (blog posts) and Shopify MCP server.

03 · Use cases

Prompts for CMS items, page SEO and publishing

In Webflow, CMS items and static pages are different resources. Items live in collections and can be saved as staged changes, published one at a time or written straight to the live site; static pages carry their own SEO and Open Graph settings. The prompts below name that difference so the agent picks the right path.

CMS items
  • “List the 20 most recently edited items in the Blog collection and flag the ones still marked as draft.”
  • “Create a draft item in the Case studies collection from the text I paste, and leave it unpublished.”
  • “Find collection items whose slug contains a date and list them for review.”
Page SEO (needs the Pages scope)
  • “List static pages whose title is longer than 60 characters.”
  • “Rewrite the meta description for the Pricing page, show it, then save it after I approve.”
  • “Set the Open Graph title and description on the About page to match its SEO fields.”
Publishing
  • “Publish the site now that the three draft items are approved.”
  • “Which Content Plan articles went live in the Blog collection this week?”
  • “Check the Blog collection for required fields that would block an article from publishing.”
Cleanup (delete on approval)
  • “Show duplicate items in the Resources collection by name. Do not delete anything yet.”
  • “Delete the test item I name and confirm it is gone from the collection list.”
  • “List archived items in the News collection and ask me which to remove.”

Answers come from your own site, so no sample results are shown here. Search-side data comes from the Search Console MCP server.

04 · Setup

Connect Webflow once, then add the URL to each client

Step 1: connect Webflow in Ryze AI

  1. 01In Webflow open Site settings, then Apps & Integrations, scroll to API access and click Generate API token.
  2. 02Set CMS to Read and write and Sites to Read-only. For page SEO fixes, also set Pages to Read and write.
  3. 03Click Create token and copy it. Webflow shows it once.
  4. 04In Ryze AI open Integrations, click Connect on the Webflow card and paste the token.
  5. 05Pick the site that hosts the blog and the CMS collection articles publish to.

Screens are in the Ryze AI Webflow guide. Webflow can also be connected from inside Claude or ChatGPT with a one-time connection link, which is refused while the workspace already holds a Webflow connection.

Claude on the web or desktop

  1. 01Go to Customize, Connectors.
  2. 02Click + Add, then Add custom connector. Enter Ryze AI as the name and https://connector.get-ryze.ai/mcp as the URL, then continue. Do not pick No sign in.
  3. 03Click Add, then Connect, choose the workspace and click Allow connection.
  4. 04Start a new chat. Claude keeps the tool list from the moment the connector is added, so if you connected Webflow afterward, remove the connector, add it again and open a new chat.

Custom connectors work on Free, Pro, Max, Ultra, Team and Enterprise, and Free holds one. On Team only Owners can add one; members then click Connect themselves.

ChatGPT

OpenAI lists custom MCP servers with full support on Business and Enterprise/Edu, on ChatGPT web only; Pro gets read and fetch actions only, so write and delete tools do not run there. On Business an admin or owner creates it. Open Plugins, choose Add custom MCP server, name it Ryze AI, enter the URL, pick OAuth, create it, sign in to Ryze AI, allow the workspace and install. Then type @ and pick Ryze AI. OpenAI’s plan wording has changed recently, so check the current article before you rely on a tier.

Claude Code

Terminalbash
claude mcp add --transport http ryze https://connector.get-ryze.ai/mcp --scope user

Run /mcp, select ryze and sign in. Claude Code needs a Pro, Max, Ultra, Team, Enterprise or Console account; the free claude.ai plan does not include it.

Cursor

.cursor/mcp.jsonjson
{ "mcpServers": {
  "ryze": { "url": "https://connector.get-ryze.ai/mcp" }
} }

Cursor asks for approval before it runs MCP tools by default, and opens a sign-in window the first time. The developer page has an Add to Cursor link and the other client configs.

Other clients

Windsurf and VS Code use the same URL in their MCP config. The Ryze AI help center says Ryze AI is a built-in app in Grok Bot’s Connect apps; if it is not listed, add it as a custom MCP server with the same URL.

05 · Permissions and scopes

Scope names from Webflow’s site token documentation; settings and actions from the Ryze AI help center, checked Nov 8, 2026. Webflow site tokens cannot reach custom code endpoints.

Removing access

In Ryze AI, open View on the Webflow card and use the trash icon. To end the token itself, delete it under API access in Webflow Site settings. In Claude, Customize, Connectors, Ryze AI, Disconnect cuts off the client side.

Which to pick: if you want an agent to build layouts, edit styles or work with components, use Webflow’s server. If the job is CMS items, page titles and meta descriptions, and publishing, and you want search and ad data in the same chat or articles published on a schedule, Ryze AI fits. Many teams can add both.

07 · API limits

08 · Approvals and safety

How you keep control of edits

Approvals in Claude

Under Customize, Connectors, Ryze AI, Tool permissions, set each tool. The Ryze AI help center recommends Needs approval for write and delete tools.

Approvals in the Ryze AI app

The Tool approvals picker in the app chat starts on Skip all approvals. Switch to Approve write & delete or Manual approve in the message box; the choice is remembered in that browser.

Publishing mode

Article publishing follows SEO, Preferences, Publishing: Automatic is the default and Manual holds articles for you.

Delete is separate

Only webflow__delete removes things, so you can allow edits and keep removals on approval.

Draft first

Ask for items as drafts. Webflow keeps a new draft item off the live site, and holds draft changes to a live item, until that item is published.

Policies

Read the MCP privacy policy, the MCP terms and the security policy.

10 · FAQ

Webflow MCP server questions

What is a Webflow MCP server?

An MCP server lets AI clients such as Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor call Webflow through tools. Webflow runs its own server for building and editing sites. Ryze AI runs a hosted one with 3 Webflow tools (read, write and delete) that call the Webflow Data API for CMS items, page SEO and publishing, on the same URL as its Search Console and Google Analytics tools.

Does Webflow have an official MCP server?

Yes. Webflow documents an MCP server that connects agents to your projects, with tools for design, CMS content, pages, SEO metadata and, on paid site plans, Analyze, Optimize and answer engine metrics. It lists Claude Code, Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, Codex and Grok Build as supported clients, and says agents work within your existing Webflow permissions.

What is the Webflow MCP server URL?

Webflow’s own server is at https://mcp.webflow.com/mcp for clients that need a manual configuration. The Ryze AI server is https://connector.get-ryze.ai/mcp, the same for every account, with no client ID to enter. Webflow access comes from a site token you paste into Ryze AI.

How do I set up Webflow with Claude?

Generate a site API token in Webflow, paste it into the Webflow card under Integrations in Ryze AI and pick the site and collection. Then in Claude open Customize, Connectors, Add custom connector, paste https://connector.get-ryze.ai/mcp, click Connect, allow the workspace and open a new chat. If Webflow was connected after the connector, remove and re-add the connector first. Every client is covered in the setup section.

Is the Webflow MCP server free?

Adding the Ryze AI connector costs nothing, but the Webflow tools need an active Ryze AI plan or trial: SEO Starter is $129/mo with a 3-day free trial, Paid Ads is $89/mo with a 7-day free trial and Agency is $279/mo. Annual billing takes 30% off the first year. Webflow documents no separate price for its own server, though its Analyze, Optimize and answer engine features are paid add-ons. See the pricing page.

Can the AI edit Webflow CMS items?

Yes. webflow__write creates and updates CMS items as live or draft, webflow__read lists collections and items, and webflow__delete removes an item by path. In Claude, set write and delete tools to Needs approval so each change waits for you.

Can it change page titles and meta descriptions?

Yes, when the token has the optional Pages Read and write scope. Webflow documents the update as a PUT on /v2/pages/{page_id} that needs pages:write and carries the SEO and Open Graph fields. Without the Pages scope the agent cannot change a page title or meta description.

Can it edit my Webflow design?

No. The Ryze AI write tool is documented for CMS items, static page SEO and Open Graph fields, and site publishing, and no design edits are listed. Webflow's own MCP server covers layouts, styles and components, so use it for design work.

Which Webflow token scopes does the connection need?

CMS set to Read and write and Sites set to Read-only. Pages Read and write is optional and is needed for page SEO edits. A site token only sees the site it was created on, and publishing fails with a token that has no CMS write access.

Does Ryze AI publish articles to Webflow?

Yes. Content Plan articles publish into the CMS collection you choose, and title, slug, body, excerpt, date and featured image are mapped automatically. Other required fields get a valid value copied from existing items, or setup tells you which field to make optional. Required image, file or multi-reference fields cannot be filled for you.

What are the Webflow API rate limits?

Webflow documents 60 Data API requests per minute on Starter and Basic site plans and 120 on CMS, Ecommerce and Business plans, with custom limits on Enterprise. Only one successful site publish per minute is allowed. A 429 response carries a Retry-After header.

Can I connect more than one Webflow site?

A workspace holds one Webflow connection, and a site token covers only its own site. To switch sites, click View on the Webflow card, disconnect with the trash icon and connect again with the other site's token.

Why are the Webflow tools missing in Claude?

Claude keeps the Ryze AI tool list from the moment the connector is added. After connecting Webflow in Ryze AI, remove the Ryze AI connector, add it again and start a new chat. In ChatGPT, remove the app and add it again.
