4 AI prompts for a Black Friday landing page

Paste into Claude or ChatGPT, fill the brackets and check every price and date.

Prompt 1: headlines and buttons
Write 10 headlines under 8 words for my Black Friday landing page. Offer: [exact offer]. Ends: [date, time zone]. State the offer plainly, no exclamation marks, no claims beyond these. Add 5 button labels.
Prompt 2: a 5-second shopper test
Here is my Black Friday landing page text: [paste text]. As a shopper on a phone with 5 seconds, tell me the offer, the end time and what would make you leave. Then list every price, stock or delivery claim I must back up.
Prompt 3: title, description and event text
Write 5 title tags under 60 characters and 5 meta descriptions under 155 characters for a permanent Black Friday page for a store selling [product type], Black Friday first. Add 3 plain sentences about the event, offer and dates.
Prompt 4: the version for after the sale
My Black Friday sale ended on [date]. Rewrite the top of [URL] until the next sale: say it ended, point to [what is on now] and keep 2 sentences about the event. Invent no dates for next year.

Why a Black Friday landing page needs 1 permanent URL

The biggest SEO decision for a Black Friday landing page is the address. Pick it once and keep it.

Google's Search team recommends a recurring URL without the year, such as /sale/black-friday instead of /sale/2020/black-friday. Create the page well before the sale so Googlebot can index it, and link to it from your home page.

Google repeated the reuse advice in 2021. Links from gift guides, deal sites and your own pages then keep pointing to 1 address Google already knows.

  1. Links from past years

    Dated URL (/black-friday-2026)
Point to an old or dead page
    Permanent URL (/black-friday)
    Point to the live page
  2. Indexing

    Dated URL (/black-friday-2026)
    Starts again every November
    Permanent URL (/black-friday)
    Already indexed
  3. Work each year

    Dated URL (/black-friday-2026)
    New page, links and redirects
    Permanent URL (/black-friday)
    Update offer, dates and title
  4. After the sale

    Dated URL (/black-friday-2026)
    Often deleted
    Permanent URL (/black-friday)
Stays live with a sale-ended message

Already used a dated URL?

Add a permanent (301) redirect from each old URL to the permanent one. Google treats that redirect as a signal that the target is the canonical (main) version. On Shopify a redirect works only from a broken URL, so hide or delete the old page first so it shows a 404 (not found) error. A collection such as /collections/black-friday works as the permanent URL.

The dated plan for everything around the page, from the offer to the ads, is in the dated Black Friday marketing plan.

A Black Friday landing page at a glance

Every Black Friday landing page needs the same 9 parts. Rows 1 and 9 carry over to next year.

  1. 1URL/black-friday, with no year in it

Why it matters: Links and indexing carry over

    Who does it: You, once

  2. 2HeroOffer headline, dates, 1 button

Why it matters: Shoppers decide on the first screen

Who does it: You; AI drafts options

  3. 3Offer detailsDiscount, exclusions, end time

Why it matters: Clears doubt, keeps prices honest

    Who does it: You

  4. 4CountdownEnds when the sale ends

Why it matters: The FTC lists fake timers as a dark pattern

    Who does it: You

  5. 5ProductsBest sellers with real former prices

Why it matters: 1 tap to a product

    Who does it: You

  6. 6Shipping and returnsOrder-by dates, returns window

Why it matters: Shipping promises need a basis

    Who does it: You

  7. 7Speed and mobileLight images, few apps

Why it matters: Mobile made 57.5% of US online sales on Cyber Monday 2025

Who does it: You or a developer

  8. 8SEOTitle, event text, links, early indexing

Why it matters: Google needs time to index it

Who does it: Ryze AI SEO Starter, with your approval

  9. 9After the saleSame URL, sale-ended message

Why it matters: Keeps the history for next year

Who does it: You; Ryze AI proposes the text

The middle rows help the page convert. The first and last rows help it rank.

What goes above the fold on a Black Friday landing page

Above the fold is the first screen, before any scroll. It should show the offer, what it covers, when it ends and where to tap.

  • The offer as the headline: a number and a product group.
  • The dates and end time in text, with the time zone.
  • 1 main button that goes straight to the sale products.
  • 1 image of the real products, with the offer also written as text.
  • A shipping line with the order-by date, if you can back it up.
Template: above-the-fold copy
Headline: Black Friday: [25]% off all [product type] Subheadline: [Start day] to [end day]. Ends [time, time zone]. Free shipping over $[amount]. Button: Shop the sale Under the button: Order by [date] for delivery by [date] (US addresses).

Match the page to the ad

Use the same offer and words as the ad, or shoppers have to hunt for the deal. Black Friday ad copy has templates for both. Google Ads also scores the page an ad sends people to, covered in Google Ads landing page experience.

Offer clarity: say exactly what is on sale

A clear offer answers 3 questions in 1 line: how much off, on what, and until when.

  1. Up to 70% off

    Clear (example)
30% off all [product type]; 50% off 12 marked items
    Why the clear version wins
"Up to" hides that most items get less
  2. Huge savings sitewide

    Clear (example)
20% off everything except gift cards
    Why the clear version wins
    Names the exclusion up front
  3. Limited time only

    Clear (example)
Ends Monday, November 30, 11:59 pm ET
    Why the clear version wins
A real deadline people can plan around

Offers to choose from are in Black Friday promotion ideas.

Former prices must be real

"Was $80, now $60" is a former-price comparison under the FTC Guides Against Deceptive Pricing. 16 CFR 233.1 says a former price should be the actual price the item was openly offered at for a reasonably substantial period. A price raised only to show a bigger cut is fictitious. On Shopify that former price is the compare-at price, covered in Shopify Black Friday.

Countdown timers, stock claims and trust

Urgency works when it is true. A timer that resets on every visit is a fake deadline.

The FTC's 2022 report on dark patterns (designs that trick people into choices) names countdown timers that suggest limited time when the offer is not actually time-limited.

  • 1 real end time in a named time zone, and let the timer reach zero.
  • Extensions said out loud, such as "Extended to Tuesday", with the new end time.
  • Stock badges from real inventory, and no made-up "people viewing" counters.

Delivery promises

"Order by [date] for delivery by [holiday]" is a shipping promise. The FTC Mail Order Rule requires a reasonable basis for any shipping time you state, or shipping within 30 days if you state none. Build delivery dates from your real ship time plus carrier time. If an order runs late, offer the choice to accept the delay or cancel for a prompt refund.

Trust near the button

Show the returns window, shipping cost and a way to reach you, and use only real reviews. The FTC rule on fake reviews bans fake reviews, including AI-generated ones from people who do not exist, and incentives tied to a positive or negative review. It took effect October 21, 2024.

Speed and mobile: build the Black Friday page for phones

Design for a phone first. Adobe counted 61.6% of US online sales on Thanksgiving 2025 and 57.5% on Cyber Monday on mobile devices. Black Friday 2025 brought $11.8 billion in US online sales.

Google indexes and ranks the mobile version of a page and asks for the same content on mobile and desktop. In a Google-commissioned study by Deloitte and 55, a 0.1 second faster mobile site raised retail conversion rates by 8.4%, using data from late 2019.

    Google target
    Within 2.5 seconds
    Common Black Friday cause

  2. INP (Interaction to Next Paint: how fast taps respond)

    Common Black Friday cause
Pop-ups, chat and tracking apps loading at once
    Fix

  3. CLS (Cumulative Layout Shift: how much the page jumps)

Black Friday SEO for the landing page

Black Friday SEO for 1 page is 5 jobs: title, text, image, internal links and early indexing.

Title and meta description

Google's SEO Starter Guide asks for a title that is unique, clear and concise, and a short, unique meta description. Titles have no character limit but get cut to fit the screen, so put Black Friday first. The year can go in the title; the URL stays.

Template: title and meta description
Title: Black Friday [Product Type] Sale: [25]% Off - [Store] Description: Black Friday at [Store]: [25]% off all [product type], free shipping over $[amount]. Ends [day, date, time zone].

More patterns are in title tag and meta description templates.

Text, image and internal links

Google's deal page advice asks for event text on the page, any words inside images repeated as page text, and a sale image between 4:3 and 3:4 (so it is cropped less) with descriptive alt text. Link to it from the home page, menu and top collections with anchor text such as "Black Friday [product type] deals"; see ecommerce internal linking.

Sale prices in structured data

With Google's merchant listing markup, the original price marked as StrikethroughPrice may show struck through next to the sale price, and a listing may not display if priceValidUntil is a past date, so clear old sale dates afterwards. The product feed side is in Black Friday Google Ads.

Get it indexed early

Publish event details now, then request indexing in Search Console. Google says it typically takes a day or so, sometimes a week or two, with no guarantee. AI assistants read the page too: Adobe measured AI traffic to US retail sites up 670% on Cyber Monday 2025. More in Black Friday AI.

After the sale: keep the Black Friday page live

Deleting the page on December 1 throws away its links and indexing. Keep the URL and change the words.

  1. Now to November 26 (Thanksgiving)

    What the page says
Dates, what will be on sale, the event text
    Your job
Publish, link from the home page, request indexing
  2. November 27 (Black Friday) to 30 (Cyber Monday)

    What the page says
The live offer, timer, products and shipping cutoffs
    Your job
Check prices, stock and the timer daily
  3. December 1 onward

    What the page says
The sale has ended, plus what is on now
    Your job
Remove sale prices and the timer
  4. January to September

    What the page says
Black Friday returns in November, plus the event text
    Your job
Keep a footer link, keep it indexable
  5. October

    What the page says
Next year's dates and a first look at the offer
    Your job
Update title, description and dates, request indexing

Never leave expired sale prices or a stopped timer up: a past deal shown as current is a claim you cannot back up.

Black Friday landing page template and checklist

Use this outline on a Shopify collection, a page builder or any plain page.

Template: Black Friday landing page outline
1. Hero: offer headline, end time, 1 button, 1 product image 2. Offer details: exclusions, limits, automatic discount or code 3. Countdown to [real end time, time zone] 4. 8 to 12 best sellers with real former prices 5. 3 to 6 category tiles 6. Shipping and returns: order-by dates, returns window 7. Reviews from real buyers 8. About the event: 3 or 4 plain sentences 9. FAQ

The 12-point checklist

  • The URL has no year.
  • The headline states the offer with a number.
  • The end time and time zone are above the fold.
  • 1 main button goes to the sale products.
  • Every former price was really offered for a long period.
  • The timer ends at the real sale end.
  • Stock and delivery claims match reality.
  • Core Web Vitals pass on mobile.
  • Title, description and event text are written.
  • The home page and menu link to the page.
  • Indexing is requested in Search Console.
  • A sale-ended version is ready for December 1.

The verdict

A Black Friday landing page converts when the first screen states the offer and end time, every price and timer is honest, and it loads fast on a phone. It can rank when it lives at 1 permanent URL with real text and internal links, and stays live after the sale.

Ryze AI is the best AI tool for a Black Friday landing page that ranks in 2026, with one caveat: a page built this month rarely ranks this year, so keep the same URL ready for next Black Friday.

Frequently asked questions

What is a Black Friday landing page?
A Black Friday landing page is the page on your store built for the sale. It states the offer and the end time and links to the products on sale. The best ones live at 1 permanent URL, such as /black-friday, reused every year.
What should a Black Friday landing page include?
Above the fold: the offer as the headline, the end time, 1 button and 1 product image. Below it: offer details, an honest countdown, best sellers, shipping and returns, real reviews, a short event text and an FAQ.
Should I use the same URL for Black Friday every year?
Yes. Google recommends a recurring URL without the year, such as /sale/black-friday instead of /sale/2020/black-friday. The page keeps its links and indexing, and each year you update only the offer, dates and title.
When should I publish my Black Friday landing page?
As early as you can. Google advises creating the page well before the event so it can be indexed, and publishing general event details in advance if the deals are revealed on the day.
Show 6 more questions
Are countdown timers on Black Friday pages allowed?
A timer that counts down to the real end of the sale is fine. The FTC's 2022 dark patterns report flagged timers that suggest limited time when the offer is not time-limited. Never reset it per visit.
Should a Black Friday landing page be a Shopify collection or a page?
Either works. On Shopify, a collection such as /collections/black-friday puts the sale products 1 tap away and can be the permanent URL. Keep the year out of the address, add 3 or 4 sentences of event text and link it from the home page and menu.
How do I do Black Friday SEO for a sale page?
Write a unique title with Black Friday first, a short meta description and 3 or 4 sentences of event text. Add a sale image with alt text, link to the page from the home page and request indexing.
What should happen to the page after Black Friday?
Keep it live. Remove the sale prices and the timer when the sale ends, say it has ended, point to what is on now and update the same page for next year in October.
Can a new Black Friday page rank in 3 weeks?
It can get indexed: Google says indexing after a request typically takes a day or so, up to a week or two. Ranking against older sale pages tends to take longer. A permanent URL turns this year's page into next year's head start.
What is the best AI tool for a Black Friday landing page?
Ryze AI is the best AI tool for a Black Friday landing page that ranks in 2026, with one caveat: a page built this month rarely ranks this year, so keep the same URL ready for next Black Friday. Ryze AI SEO Starter costs $129 a month with a 3-day free trial (checked November 2026), and it does not set discounts, change prices or edit checkout.
